About Me

Hi! Welcome to my travel blog. My name is Sharon, and I was born and raised in Peru.

I have been traveling and visiting different parts of my country since I can remember. First, as a kid with my family, and then as an adult, taking every chance I got to travel and getting to know very off-the-beaten-path locations and also going back again to the places I love.

Besides traveling in Peru, I have traveled around the world quite a bit. I have visited more than 30 countries, generally spending weeks or months at a time in different locations. When I’m not here, you can generally find me in India, Thailand, or the Netherlands (where my partner is from).

But even though there are places that I’m in love with abroad, if I had to recommend just one country to travel to, it would be Peru. Peru really has a mix of everything most travelers appreciate when visiting another country. It has a variety of beautiful landscapes, a rich history and culture, delicious food, and warm people!

I have been to places like Cusco, Mancora, Huaraz, Tarapoto, and Arequipa more times than I can remember. I also enjoy very much off-the-beaten-path destinations like Chachapoyas or Ayacucho. And even more remote places like Pasco or the Manu National Park.

My trips have left me with innumerable memorable experiences. From spotting whales in Mancora, waking up early in the morning in the middle of a National Park in Pozuzo to spot the national Peruvian birds (the Cock-of-the-Rock), learning traditional weaving in a community in Cusco, drinking Ayahuasca in the Amazon, to being stranded in the middle of the jungle after hours of going upstream because the boat didn’t want to spend more petrol. So many memories I’ll never forget!

In my blog, I want to share everything that Peru has to offer. Whether it’s by sharing insider tips, recounting memorable experiences, or providing practical advice, I hope to help you create your own extraordinary travel stories!
